Hello-
I am an aspiring filmmaker and one who loves America! I find the work of Mr. Jackson to be both incredibly inspiring and truthful. Having watched both 'Uncle Tom' and 'Uncle Tom II' I was immediately hooked. Where has this history been? Who has been burying it, or cherry-picking historical events? Most ironic is that the information that Mr. Jackson presents is readily available and discoverable; yet no one bothers to look further than established, surface narratives. No one.
I am extremely interested in learning how Mr. Jackson got started, and most importantly HOW he researches. In this age of deception I know that original sources are key, and yet Mr. Jackson presents such depth of subject I am awe in how he does this on a project, as I'd like to emulate his approach.
Does anyone have any insights, stories, first-hand knowledge of how Mr. Jackson has created such impactful and incredibly solid works?
Thanks!
I am the same. As a history fanatic, I wish when they taught about Civil Rights, and Martin Luther King Jr. they would teach it from a critical point of view. He was not a Christian. He was a Marxist. His wife was no better and yet she was placed upon a pedestal of virtue following his death. Is it a surprise that his children never grew up to take on his mantle and become civic leaders? I'm not saying we have to completely vilify him, but I believe it's necessary to give the people the real truth and reveal the pathetic character he really was in life.
